This is the city’s most popular festival and aims to bring together the many forms in which it is celebrated by the local population from across all sectors.
The Festa Major takes place in early July and is held in honour of Sant Miquel dels Sants (Miquel Arguemir i Mitjà, Vic 1591 - Valladolid 1625), the city’s patron saint. The main day of the festival is 5 July, a local public holiday. There is an extensive programme of events aimed at bringing together the many forms in which it is celebrated by the local population from across all sectors.
